The city is in chaos. A new religious faction, "The Silent Brothers," is preaching that the Supreme Creator actually hates everyone and that the only way to salvation is to stop eating and give all their belongings to the temple treasury.

The crowd, who actually likes wine and food, erupts into cheers. They swarm the Silent Brothers, not to kill them, but to drag them off to the tavern to force-feed them. The Leader speaks: "Aardvark
