Born (and also known by the Turkish name Ahmet), Ciguli was a Bulgarian-born musician of Turkish-Romani descent.
He earned the name "Ciguli" due to his lightning-fast accordion skills, which fans compared to the speed and agility of the Zhiguli (VAZ-2101), a popular Soviet sedan in Bulgaria.
Released in , "Çalgıcı Karısı Binnaz" (Binnaz, the Musician's Wife) was the lead single from his debut album Binnaz (also known by the title Yapma Bana Numara in some releases).
