If you use a Firewall Management Center (FMC) , it must be upgraded to the target version (or higher) before you upgrade the managed 2110 devices.
Push the upgrade package to the 2110 device ahead of time to reduce the actual maintenance window duration.
Get the upgrade package from the Cisco Software Central and upload it to the FMC under System > Updates .
Before initiating the upgrade, verify compatibility and perform essential backups.
Always take a full backup of both the FMC and the FTD device before starting.
