Color Out Of Space (2019) Page
The film follows the Gardner family—led by (Nicolas Cage) and his wife Theresa (Joely Richardson)—who have traded city life for a quiet existence on a remote New England farm. Their peace is shattered when a glowing meteorite crashes into their front yard. While the rock soon disappears, it leaves behind a "color" that is literally from outside our known spectrum, infecting the soil, the water, and eventually the family’s sanity and physical forms. Highlights and Performances
Color Out of Space (2019) is a psychedelic, hallucinatory descent into cosmic horror that finally gives H.P. Lovecraft’s "unfilmable" short story a worthy, if eccentric, big-screen translation . Directed by Richard Stanley in his first feature film since 1996, it effectively bridges the gap between old-fashioned eldritch dread and modern, grisly body horror.
