In the first episode of Kamisama Hajimemashita , high schooler Nanami Momozono becomes the new Land God after being abandoned by her father and saving a man named Mikage. She arrives at a dilapidated shrine, where she must forcibly seal a contract with the fox yokai familiar, Tomoe, to survive a demon attack.
