Based on the true story of , the film follows a four-man Navy SEAL reconnaissance team deployed to the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan in 2005. Their mission is to track and eliminate Taliban leader Ahmad Shah.
The mission is compromised when the team is discovered by local goatherds. After a difficult moral decision to release them, the SEALs are ambushed by an overwhelming force of Taliban fighters.
