Set 18 months after the Phoenix Foundation was disbanded and its members blacklisted, the team has moved on to civilian lives—including Angus MacGyver, who is seen teaching a university class. The status quo is disrupted when (played by Henry Ian Cusick), a wealthy ex-MI6 agent and owner of the mercenary group Spearhead Operations, approaches MacGyver with evidence of an imminent biological attack on a major U.S. city.
