The film follows Enrique, a retired radio host who once enjoyed fame spinning rock 'n' roll music. Now living a much quieter life, he takes a job as a grocery bagger at a local supermarket to save money. His primary motivation is to attend an anniversary party held by his former employer, where he hopes to reunite with the love of his life.

While working at the store, Enrique forms an unlikely bond with a young co-worker named Picho. He takes the younger man under his wing, teaching him how to be a "mysterious rebel" to win over his own crush, Amanda.
