The Box Tops - Nonstop 1968 [remastered 2000] -
Non-Stop is the third studio album from Memphis blue-eyed soul group The Box Tops. Recorded at Chips Moman’s American Sound Studio, the album features the raw, world-weary vocals of a then 16-year-old Alex Chilton, who would later lead the cult-favorite power-pop band Big Star.
Non-Stop arrived just three months after their previous record, Cry Like a Baby , during a prolific period for the band. While it lacked a massive chart-topper like "The Letter," it produced two minor hits: and "I Met Her in Church" . The album is noted for its mix of soul-pop, R&B covers, and the first songwriting contribution from Chilton on a Box Tops LP, "I Can Dig It".
