The season starts directly where the first ended: Josh is unable to stop Gabi from leaving for China with Cooper. Upon her return, the season explores the aftermath of their missed connections and brewing feelings.

Gabi briefly leaves for an internship in Switzerland, which ends disastrously when she accidentally burns the restaurant down. Back in San Francisco, she and Josh's younger brother, Jake, eventually start a food truck business.
